WEEK #5: High School National Top 25 Rankings

In what turned out to be the craziest week of the 2016 High School field hockey season yet, we saw:

• National powerhouse Eastern Regional (NJ) fall not once, but twice in one weekend (2-3 vs Sacred Heart Academy (KY) & 1-2 vs Wyoming Sem (PA))
• First Colonial (VA) establish itself not only as the top dog in Virginia Beach, but one of the top teams across the country (defeating rival Frank W Cox convincingly, 5-1 and Kentucky powerhouse Assumption 2-0)
• Unranked Visitation Academy (MO) knock off 3 Top 20 West/Mid-West teams in 1 week (2-1 over St. Joseph’s, 4-2 over MICDS, and 2-1 over Cor Jesu)
• 38 regionally ranked squads hold onto their unbeaten streaks
• 8 new teams join the rankings (Winchester- MA, Belmont- MA, Wyoming Sem- PA, Moorestown- NJ, Tabb- VA, Great Bridge- VA, Visitation- MO, Bishop Watterson- OH)
