What will you major in/study?: Pre-Physician Assistant Health Science Major
Why did you choose this school?: Growing up with two teacher parents, academics have always been number one for me with field hockey as a very close second. It has always been very important to me to get good grades to be able to reach my future goal of working in health care. Academically, Lock Haven University has a great health science and physician assistant program that fits my goals for the future. Also, I have always been very passionate about the game of field hockey. This university has a high performing and competitive field hockey program with very personable coaches whom I believe know me very well and the kind of player I am. I like that Lock Haven is a smaller school that is close enough for me to see my family. Overall, the university is the right fit for me to pursue my academic and athletic goals.
Other Colleges considered: Lehigh University, Saint Francis University, Appalachian State University, University of Rochester, Ithaca College, Bryn Mawr College
Who would you like to thank?: I would like to thank my parents for being there for me and supporting me through thick and thin. Through exciting wins and downhearted losses, they were the constant in my life. I wouldn’t be the person or the player I am today without them. I would like to thank my club head coach, Dalton Beaver, and coaches Katie and Erin for showing me all that was possible in the game of FH. My grandmother also deserves a huge thanks. She has always been my greatest fan, the loudest on the sideline, and the most cheerful. I also must thank Barb Wachowiak, the woman who is the biggest supporter for female athletics I know and one of the toughest, yet most encouraging coaches I have ever had. Thank you for being my first-ever goalie coach and for always being there for me to help me grow my game. Thank you to my HS head coach Peter Tonsoline for constantly supporting me. I am beyond grateful to my family, club coaches, and teammates for supporting me through my field hockey endeavors. Without them I would have never been able to accomplish what I have. Lastly, I would like to thank the coaches at Lock Haven University for giving me the opportunity to play college FH.
