The National Player Combine (NPC) is an elite event designed to allow top field hockey players in the classes of 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 to demonstrate all aspects of their athleticism, skills, and talent on the field.  Individuals will be evaluated by class through 5 sessions that include physiology, field hockey skills, small group play, and full field 11v11 play. The NPC standardized testing and evaluation curriculum is developed and implemented by the highest level individuals in the sport. The Physiology curriculum was developed by Kyle McMinn, former Director of Strength & Conditioning for the USA Field Hockey Women’s National Team, and utilizes electronic timing gates and various technologies and tests used by the USWNT.

World Class Facility: The majority of combine activities will take place at The Proving Grounds on the Villanova University water-based turf.  The world-class surface is FIH Global Certified. We may incorporate Field #1 for limited stations.  The turf fiber height on Field #1 is ¼ inch shorter than standard fields and was specifically chosen to provide superior play for field hockey.

Each National Player Combine is a total of 5 sessions.  All athletes will compete in 3 full-field 11v11 50-minute games (1 Day #2, 2 Day #3). Day #3 games will run from approximately 7:30am-3:30pm and each athlete will play 2 games within either the first half or second half of that time range (7:30-11:30am or 11:30am-3:30pm).
