2018 Notables: Lakeland won their 22nd consecutive League Championship and their 9th consecutive Section Championship before falling short to Garden City 1-0 in the State Finals.  This was the first loss in New York State since 2008.  Lakeland defeated Class A State Semi-Finalist Mamaroneck by the score of 2-0 earlier in the season.
2019 Outlook: The Hornets will look to experience similar successes in 2019.  Although graduating a class of ten this past fall, including First Team All-Region player Julianna Cappello (Quinnipiac) and Second teamer Emily Kness (Colgate), Lakeland’s rising senior class will feature Emma Halderman (University of New Hampshire), Jenna McCrudden, and Erin Daly who played key roles for the Hornets in 2018.
