Shooting Star Thanksgiving Tournament

Another weekend of high level hockey is in the books following the fifth annual Shooting Star Thanksgiving Tournament that took place at the River City Sportsplex outside Richmond, Virginia.  186 teams and 2,906 athletes took to the turf fields competing in 4 age divisions and 30 pools.  Each team played five matches between Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Check out the Pool Champions below, as well as links to the complete pool standings and results for each age division.

FIH boards, sport court, competitive rankings, Shooting Star provides top indoor competition for all teams throughout the nation at the U14, U16 and U19 level.

  • 24 U19 Teams – 3 Pools (Ranked A, B & C) – 8 Teams per Pool
  • 24 U16 Teams – 3 Pools (Ranked A, B & C) – 8 Teams per Pool
  • 8 U14 Teams – 1 Pool of 8 teams
  • 1 team per club, per age division
  • 5 games per team (3 Pool Game, 1 Cross-over game & 1 Placement game)
  • Final 1-24 ranking determined at end of tournament
  • 40 minute games (20 min halves – 2 min halftime)
