NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
& PA REGION PLAYER OF THE YEAR

MACKENZIE ALLESSIE
Donegal High School (PA)
Senior – Midfield

Donegal senior midfielder Mackenzie Allessie is the 2018 National Player of the Year.  This wasn’t a decision we had to think about.   Allessie made history this Fall, breaking the National High School scoring record, finishing her career with 351 goals.  The prolific scorer’s senior campaign consisted of 124 goals and 28 assists, her final high school goal being the game-winner in overtime against Palmyra to win the PIAA 2A State Championship.

A mainstay on the junior national teams since 2016, Allessie was named to the Senior USA Women’s National Team last month (becoming the youngest rostered player) and earned her first caps this week in a test series against Chile, scoring her first of many international career goals on Tuesday night.  She heads to Ohio State next Fall where she will join a class that includes three other National All-Americans and one of the top coaches in the nation, Jared Martin.
