We have our first State Champion for the 2017 season! Congratulations to #17 Brookfield Academy (WI) who claimed the Wisconsin State Championship convincingly with a 3-0 win over Divine Savior Holy Angels. They finish the season undefeated at 16-0-1 with their lone tie coming to Lafayette (MO) back in early September.
The Top 20 for the West/Mid-West Region remains almost exactly the same this week, with just a couple of minor shifts. Most states have entered postseason play with several state championships underway. The Kentucky State title game is set with #2 Assumption (18-6-0) knocking off rival and #9 ranked Sacred Heart Academy (18-8-0) in their semifinal game 2-1 in OT. #12 CAL (21-5-2) claimed the other championship spot after knocking off DuPont Manual 2-0 in their semifinal. The final is set to be played tonight at CAL.
The Colorado State Championship match-up is also set, with #15 Palmer Ridge (12-1-1) set to play Kent Denver (13-2-2) on Thursday in the final. The two squads met up earlier in the season, with Kent Denver winning that game 1-0.
