Week #4 Rankings – West/Mid-West Region

The top 5 teams in the West/Mid-West remain intact with Serra, Assumption, Los Gatos, Thomas Worthington and Glenbard West winning out their weeks.  The main story of the week is St. John’s School’s (Houston, TX) trip to Saint Louis in which they faced off against powerhouses Villa Duchesne, MICDS, and Cor Jesu.  The Mavericks knocked off then #12 ranked MICDS 4-1, lost a close one to then #7 ranked Villa Duchesne 2-1, and then faced then #13 ranked Cor Jesu twice- resulting in a 1-1 tie and 2-1 win.  With the West/Mid-West Region being so spread out, these match-ups allow us to see that Texas’ bests- St. John’s (and St. Stephen’s Episcopal, who beat St. John’s last week 3-2) are for real and deserve a bump up in our Top 20.  St. Stephen’s Episcopal moves up to #8 and St. John’s moves up to #11.  Both squads still have a good portion of their schedule left to play.

We have an exciting opportunity this weekend to see how Assumption (KY) fares as the Rockets travel to play Virginia Beach powerhouses Norfolk Academy, First Colonial, and Frank W. Cox (the Mid-Atlantic Region’s #1, #4, and #7 ranked teams and a couple of the top teams in the country). This should give us some good insight on our National Top 25 Rankings!
