There is a new #1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region Rankings! Norfolk Academy (Norfolk, VA) secures the top spot in the Week #2 rankings, the first time they have done so and the first time a team other than Virginia Beach powerhouses First Colonial or Frank W. Cox has been #1. The Bulldogs are off to a 7-0 start and have ranked wins now against #6 St. Catherine’s School (Richmond, VA), #7 Frank W. Cox (Virginia Beach, VA), and then nationally ranked #6 Conestoga (Berwyn, PA). They don’t just have a talented player or two on their squad- they have a TON.. two Top 10 ranked seniors in Riley Fulmer (UNC commit) and Greer Gill (UVA commit) certainly lead the charge, but the list continues with players like Halle Gill (Georgetown commit), Lilly Clarkson (Penn commit), Elizabeth Heckard (Stanford commit), Grace Cornbrooks (William & Mary commit) and Holley Cromwell (Dartmouth commit). And they play team hockey. They are going to be a tough squad to beat.
Westfield (Chantilly, VA) bumps up to the #2 spot as they continue to dominate the Northern Virginia competition and remain unbeated at 9-0. Right behind them is #3 Trinity Episcopal School who defeated then #1 ranked First Colonial last week 2-1. The lone newcomer to this week’s Top 20 is #19 Garrison Forest School (Owings Mills, MD) who knocked off then #10 ranked Archbishop Spalding on the road.
